The Food and Drug Administration has found that people with type 2 diabetes who take pioglitazone (Actos) for one year or longer have a 40% increased risk for bladder cancer. The medication has other serious side effects including worsening congestive heart failure. If you are taking pioglitazone, speak to your doctor about whether changing medications is advisable... or work with a holistic doctor to treat diabetes naturally.
