Allergies can cause any part of the body to become swollen or inflamed. They can also make a person feel lethargic or cranky...have mood changes, joint pain, an irritable bowel or intestinal cramps. Look for triggers-a specific place or time when symptoms occur, such as at work, after consuming certain foods or beverages or after exposure to inhalants, such as pollen. If you can't figure out the triggers on your own, see an allergist.
