Skim milk lowers hypertension risk according to recent research.

Recent finding: A two-year study of 5,880 people found that those who consumed more than two to three servings of skim milk and other low-fat dairy products daily had half the risk of developing high blood pressure of those who rarely or never consumed such foods. Whole milk products were not found to reduce hypertension risk.

Theory: The calcium, which is highly absorbable in skim dairy products, may decrease blood pressure.
