Mirapex (pramipexole)—which mimics the brain chemical dopamine and helps relieve the stiffness and tremors of Parkinson's disease—may trigger compulsive behaviors, such as gambling, overeating and promiscuity, in a small number of patients.

Self-defense: Notify your doctor if you exhibit any type of compulsive behavior while taking Mirapex. Ask him/her if a lower dosage would work for you...or if you can switch to another medication, perhaps another dopamine agonist such as Requip or Sinemet.
