Speak up. A new survey shows that patients usually don't say anything-which puts them at risk for medical errors. Patients were more likely to speak up about possible medication mistakes than about possible incorrect diagnoses or inappropriate treatments.

Helpful: Affirm your respect for the doctor's position and competence before suggesting that he/she may have made an error.
