Look for a pharmacy listed on the Web site of the Canadian International Pharmacy Association (CIPA), www.canadadrugpharmacy.com. CIPA pharmacies must meet standards for handling drugs, licensing, business practices and more. They sell only medicines that have been tested and approved by Health Canada—the Canadian version of the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Health Canada and the FDA have equivalent safety standards.

Before ordering from a Canadian pharmacy site, be sure it is licensed as required by Canadian law. It should display its provincial license online. All pharmacies listed at the CIPA site have the necessary licenses.
