Hot flashes may be eased by acupuncture, says a new study.

Recent study: After seven weeks, postmenopausal women who had acupuncture twice a week for the first two weeks and once a week thereafter had a greater reduction in nocturnal hot flashes than women who had a treatment that felt like acupuncture but wasn't. Some women getting acupuncture had minor side effects, such as pain, redness and itching where needles were inserted.
