Diabetes drug may boost fertility. Metformin (Glucophage), which is used to make diabetics' tissues more insulin-sensitive, can help treat infertility caused by failure to ovulate. In some women who are not diabetic, excess insulin levels interfere with ovulation. For these women, metformin may restore normal ovulation.
