Breast cancer may look like a skin irritation. This rare type of cancer is known as Paget's disease of the breast. Symptoms include a rash or flaking or a crusty area of a nipple.

Self-defense: Perform breast self-exams every month, and report to your physician any change—in the nipple or elsewhere—that persists for more than one month.
