Is your face creased with wrinkles when you wake up? Cosmetic pencils and creams sold as "line erasers" are widely available and will help improve the appearance of these wrinkles for an hour or so. But that's only a temporary solution.

These facial creases—which are caused by sleeping with your face pressed into your pillow—eventually will become permanent if the skin is folded the same way every night over a long period. The best way to prevent these lines altogether is to sleep on your back.

Helpful: Buy a U-shaped cushion—often sold to make airline travel more comfortable—and sleep with the back of your neck nestled into it. This should help to keep your face crease-free.
