Vivid dreams can be a side effect of some antidepressants, including fluoxetine (Prozac), t venlafaxine (Effexor) or bupropion (Wellbutrin). The dreams are caused by chemical changes in the brain associated with these drugs. If the dreams are too disturbing, patients should ask their doctors about switching to a different antidepressant.
