Recent study: Alcoholics taking the oral medication naltrexone (Depade) who met for 20 minutes on nine occasions with a medical professional had clinical outcomes as good as those who had up to 20 psychotherapy sessions of 50 minutes each. Naltrexone costs up to $5 a day.
