Reduce Prostate Cancer Risk

In a recent finding, men who engaged in at least three hours weekly of vigorous physical activity, such as jogging, swimming or bicycling, had a nearly 70% lower risk of being diagnosed with advanced prostate cancer.

Theory: Exercise reduces levels of hormones, such as insulin and leptin, that may contribute to the development of prostate cancer.

For optimal prostate cancer prevention: Men should aim for at least three hours of vigorous exercise per week. Talking or other types of milder exercise have cardiovascular and other benefits.
