Postmenopausal Incontinence

Postmenopausal women have a high prevalence of urinary incontinence.

Recent finding: Sixty percent of postmenopausal women experience one or more episodes of incontinence in a month. Postmenopausal women with diabetes are more likely to report severe incontinence—difficulty controlling urination, inability to completely empty the bladder and discomfort during urination. Treatment options for incontinence include Kegel (pelvic floor) exercises, medication and surgery.
