Hidden Cause of Mental Decline

A new report from a 20-year study indicates that untreated high blood pressure is linked to mental decline even in otherwise healthy and relatively young people, ages 18 to 45. Other studies show that when high blood pressure is successfully treated by medication, the risk of mental decline is reduced by as much as half. Yet 7O% of Americans who have high blood pressure don't receive treatment for it and 30% don't even know they have it.
