Drug fights aggressive breast cancer. Herceptin (trastuzumab), a treatment for advanced cases of HER2-positive breast cancer, is highly effective in preventing recurrences. Studies suggest that Herceptin can prevent about half of all recurrences.

Main side effect: Up to 4% of women treated with Herceptin in combination with chemotherapy may develop congestive heart failure. For most patients, the benefits outweigh the risks. Consult your doctor.
